Greece is a country scattered with sandy strips and crystal turquoise oceans. Its numerous seaside resorts provide tourists and locals alike with many precious memories and enjoyable day trips. The secluded sandy coves are always showered in sunshine and you will surely marvel at their magnificence whilst soaking up some well deserved rays. Greece's history stretches far back to 4,000 years ago, when it used to be known as Hellas and the country are the makers of the world's most famous sporting event: The Olympics. You can even visit Olympia, the site where the very first Olympic Games was held in 774 BC.

Off shore, Greece's 1400 islands offer a rainbow of paradisiacal settings. There's something for everyone: from the peaceful tranquillity of Kafalonia and Amorgos to the electric party scene of Mykonos and the ideal hiking terrains and scuba diving areas in Crete. Magic lies behind every corner and you won't leave without the Greek spirit touching your heart.

Athens: named after Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom. The capital of Greece known for its Acropolis (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and Parthenon and acknowledged as the birthplace of the Democracy, is a vibrant city with the old district of 'Plaka' and a long coastline facing the Saronic Gulf. Athens was very honoured to host the Olympic Games of 2004 and enabled the city to complete an enormous facelift and eliminate 'problems' of the past such as traffic congestion, pollution and lack of green areas.

Despite Athens ancient history it remains a major European centre of culture, with its stunning classical sites and world-class museums. The Greek capital also has the finest restaurants and the most varied nightlife in the country.

Rhodes is another destination that you have to experience on your trip to Greece. Until you've been here, you won't know the meaning of fun and magic. This island of green, fertile lands is the most developed in the entire Mediterranean. The capital, Rhodes Town, is surrounded by a medieval fortification which was built by the Knights of St John and was later taken by the Ottoman Turks. Now a UNESCO World Heritage site, you can wander through the old cobbled streets and visit the lovely boutique hotels, souvenir shops and rustic taverns, all whilst feeling like you've been transported back to a time of romantic beauty.

A great place to visit in Rhodes, is the 14th century Palace of the Grand Masters, containing a grand museum which highlights the entire history of the island. Also, visit the 15th century Knight's Hospital which is home to the outstanding Archaeological Museum. The Mosque of Suleiman the Magnificent is always a hotspot, along with the Temple of Apollo in the Acropolis of Ancient Rhodes.

Greece isn't just a destination. It's a memory that you'll never forget.
