When Southwest Airlines decides to celebrate.....well, they do
it right. Even Max Chmerkovskly and Cheryl Burke from "Dancing with
the Stars" didn't miss this opportunity to join in.
Incredible Productions had the pleasure of providing turnkey
design and execution for two special events this year for Southwest
Airlines, including a "40th Celebration Party" held in the Love
Field Southwest Airlines maintenance hangar (8000 employees
attended) and the Annual SWA Gala Awards event recognizing 10 - 15
- 25 - 30 and 35 year employees for years of service. The VIP crowd
included 4100 guests.
Incredible provided multiple stages, custom décor, name and local
entertainment, comprehensive production services and technical
support at each of the venues. This required extensive detailed
planning, organization, and staffing, in order to pull off the two
large events.....the hangar celebration and the Awards Gala, which
were held on consecutive days, centered around the entertainment
and surprise guests!
Starting off with the hangar event, SWA employees were treated to
a concert provided by "Grace Potter and the Nocturnals". Grace had
appeared on the "Today" show that morning and arrived from New York
just in time to entertain the Southwest gang.
On to the Awards night.......as guests made their way to the
check-in point for registration, Incredible Productions showcased
the passing of 40 years with "living décor" positioned in the
colorfully decorated foyer and hallways leading to the
ballrooms.
Ten models in custom-made Southwest Airlines uniforms proved to be
a big hit during the reception. As attendees clamored to have their
photos taken with the model that corresponded to the year they were
hired. Lively and entertaining "paparazzi" positioned behind red
velvet ropes provided more energy and fun. The attendees were
having so much fun during the welcome, they had to be encouraged to
move into the Reception.
Once inside the ballroom, Max Chmerkovskly and Cheryl Burke from
"Dancing With the Stars" were a surprise drop-in hit with the
Awards audience, as was "Michael Jackson" from Legends in Las
Vegas.
After dinner, following a countdown of the years, the audience was
lead next door and back to their "beginnings" with a high-energy
concert by "The Temptations."
